It was 1918 when Julian Ashurst entered the honey market by becoming a beekeeper. Julian lived in Pamona California where he kept his bees. He later relocated to the Imperial Valley where his son Delvin continued the family business. The Imperial Valley is home to various crops and the pollination of these crops is vital to our food supply.

In 1968 Delvin recognized an opportunity and created American Honey. Utilizing the honey his bees produced, in addition to other suppliers, American Honey began supplying honey for portion packs.
Today, this legacy continues. Delvin's sons, Buddy, Richard, and Kenneth Ashurst as well as their sons continue to keep bees. With over 36,000 hives collectively, the Ashurst maintain one of the largest pollinating outfits in the country.
In 1988, Buddy Ashurst purchased American Honey from his father and has continued the family tradition of producing and distributing 100% ALL NATURAL honey.
American Honey is intricately involved in the production, straining and distribution of its product. From start to finish, quality is ensured through this high level of involvement. Outside laboratory testing is utilized to ensure the purity and safety of our product.
The processing of honey, which involves the heating and straining of the product, takes place on-site in El Centro, California. The honey is then distributed in bulk by our own fleet of trucks, which ensures a timely delivery and continued quality control.
